Monona County Sanitary Landfill Agency Regular Board Meeting September 12th, 2023 Chairman Keith Zediker called the meeting to order at 9:30 am. Present: Keith Zediker, Ryan Clark, Kirk Rose, Becky Miller, Manager Logan Persinger, Secretary/Board Secretary Amanda Yanak Approval of Minutes: Board meeting minutes from August 8th, 2023 were presented by A. Yanak. C. Carrier made a motion to accept the minutes. K. Rose seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. No further discussion. Treasurers Report: Expenditures and CD’s were reviewed. In August, expenditures equalled $78,081.09 and deposits equalled $96,432.96. R. Clark made a motion to accept the financial statements and CD’s as proposed. B. Miller seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Secretary’s Report: A. Yanak presented the office update of when the portable office was coming in, electrical work, and scale work. Discussion was held to close on Friday September 22nd, 2023 at 2 p.m to move the scale. Yanak gave an update that the yearly audit by Schroer and Associates will begin Monday, Sept. 25th, 2023. Manager’s Report: L. Persinger stated that the bucket is currently being repaired by Northside Shop in Onawa. L. Persinger stated that Waste Management’s contract needs signed for another year and the Gill’s contract is up in May 2024. C. Carrier made a motion to sign Waste Management’s contract for the year. K. Rose seconded. Motion carried unanimously. L. Persinger stated that the tire company is going from $325/ton to $345/ton for a load of tires. A. Yanak suggested we raise the rate to cover the cost of the increase. K. Rose made motion to raise the rate to 0.18/lb or $8/car tire effective September 13th, 2023. C. Carrier seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Chairman K. Zediker adjourned the meeting at 10:38 a.m. Next meeting is Tuesday October 10th @ 9:30 a.m. These minutes are subject to change at the next meeting.
