Mapleton Municipal Utility – Mapleton, Iowa August 8, 2023 The regular meeting of the Mapleton Municipal Electric board was held August 8 2023, 12:00 noon at the City Hall council chambers. Present were Jim Else, Daniel Comes and Chris Blake. Employees present was Karla Uhl, Teresa Steinhoff, Nate LeFebvre and Jayden McFarland. Motion by Dan Comes second by Chris Blake to approve minutes from the previous meeting, the financial statement and payment of bills. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Dan Comes, second by Jim Else to recommend to the city council the reappointment of Chris Blake to the electric board for a term of six years. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Chris Blake, second by Daniel Comes to approve resolution to transfer $5,000.00 to the Mapleton Library. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Daniel Comes, second by Chris Blake to send a termination letter to the current tenant of the farm ground near the golf course and enter into a two-year lease with Willow Vale Golf Course with the option to extend two years. Yearly rent is set at $8,000.00 for the first two years to be reviewed at the end of the lease. Rent will be due March 1, 2024. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Chris Blake, second by Daniel Comes to provide internet service to the American Legion at no cost. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 1:02 p.m..
