City of Mapleton Minutes - Regular Council Meeting November 8, 2023 The regular meeting of the city council was held on November 8, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. Roll call was taken with the following members present, Mayor Brent Streck, Joe Hogan, Abby Koenigs, Dian Bleil and Angie Sass. Absent: Benita Uhl. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Motion by Dian Bleil, second by Joe Hogan to approve minutes from the previous meetings. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Abby Koenigs, second by Dian Bleil to approve the order of the agenda. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Dian Bleil, second by Joe Hogan to approve setting public hearing for 2024 Paving and Storm Sewer Improvement Projects. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Angie Sass, second by Dian Bleil to approve renewal of Tiny’s Bar liquor license. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Dian Bleil, second by Angie Sass to approve passage of Resolution 2023-17 approving the Annual Street Financial Report. Ayes: Dian Bleil, Angie Sass, Joe Hogan and Abby Koenigs. Absent: Benita Uhl. Motion carried. Motion by Dian Bleil, second by Joe Hogan to approve the Annual Urban Renewal Report. Ayes: Dian Bleil, Joe Hogan, Angie Sass, Abby Koenigs. Absent: Benita Uhl. Motion carried. Motion by Joe Hogan, second by Dian Bleil to pay $83,445.00 for the backhoe and look at possible partial payment or internal loan from the electric department. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Joe Hogan, second by Angie Sass to approve hiring Robert McMillen as an additional part time certified police officer. Ayes: All. Motion carried. He will two shirts, two pants and MMPI testing to be done. Motion by Joe Hogan, second by Dian Bleil to approve payment of bills as presented. Ayes: All. Motion carried.
