City of Mapleton Minutes - Regular Council Meeting May 10, 2023 The regular meeting of the city council was held on May 10, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. Roll call was taken with the following members present, Mayor Brent Streck, Joe Hogan, Dian Bleil, Angie Sass, Benita Uhl and Abby Koenigs. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Dian Bleil to approve minutes from the previous meetings. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Abby Koenigs, second by Dian Bleil to approve the order of the agenda. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Joe Hogan, second by Dian Bleil to approve replacing 60’ of curb at 111 No. 7tth at a cost of $3,500.00 if there is no plan for someone building on that lot soon. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Angie Sass, second by Joe Hogan to approve renewal of liquor license for Willow Vale Golf Club. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Dian Bleil, second by Abby Koenigs to approve the rate of pay for pool employees at $7,500.00 for manager, $12.00 per hour for assistant manager, $11.50 per hour for WSI lifeguards, $11.00 per hour for standard lifeguards and return half of certification costs to guards at end of the year. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Joe Hogan to approve plans and specs for the 2023 paving projects and set public hearing for June 14, 2023. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Abby Koenigs, second by Joe Hogan to approve hiring of parttime summer help of Jeff Krusen and Mike Hahn and set rate of pay for them and Kaylee Brodersen at $15.00 per hour. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Joe Hogan to approve Connections Area Agency on Aging provided they add the City of Mapleton as additionally insured on their policy. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Joe Hogan, second by Dian Bleil to approve $1,000.00 to the little league to use for repairs and maintenance on the fields. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Dian Bleil, second by Benita Uhl to approve setting the budget amendment public hearing for June 14, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Dian Bleil, second by Joe Hogan to approve payment of bills as presented pending explanation of Bomgaars bill. Ayes: All. Motion carried.
