CHARTER OAK-UTE COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR HEARING AUGUST 30, 2023 The Board of Directors of the Charter Oak-Ute School met on the above date in the Charter Oak Center with Directors Weed, Schultz, McAndrews, Klinker, Goslar, Superintendent Eggeling and Secretary Carstens present. Also present was Elaine Vogt and Jake Hopp. President Weed called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by McAndrews to approve the Regular Meeting Agenda as presented. Ayes all. Motion carried. President Weed welcomed the visitors. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by Klinker to approve the consent items. Ayes all. Motion carried. Approval of the Minutes of Regular Meeting on August 30, 2023 Fundraising Approvals All Financial Reports Invoices for Payment Superintendent Eggeling discussed certified enrollment number down, Wick supplies, bus barn, and advertising for substitute teachers, bus drivers and aides. Also discussed classified wages, early retirement, professional development and fans for building. The architects discussed the building projects. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by McAndrews to approve the Mapleton daily trip pay to be $15.00 a route. This will be retroactive to the start of school. Ayes all. Motion carried. The board discussed the salary employee and transportation pay. It was moved by Klinker, seconded by Goslar to approve consortium agreement with Children’s Square and Heartland Family Services. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Klinker, seconded by Schultz to approve the school improvement committee. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Klinker to approve the classified handbook. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by Goslar to approve a teacher’s aid salary acknowledgement for Cassandra Christophersen. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Klinker to approve a teacher’s aid salary acknowledgement for Ruth Bielenberg. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by McAndrews to approve the $1900.00 Community Bank Grant program. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Klinker, seconded by McAndrews to set the September board meeting for September 13, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. Ayes all. Motion carried. The board discussed the future agenda items. There being no further business it was moved by Goslar, seconded by McAndrews to adjourn the meeting at 7:11 p.m. Ayes all. Motion carried.
