CHARTER OAK-UTE COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD OF DIRECTORS BUDGET AMENDMENT HEARING MONDAY MAY 16, 2022 The Board of Directors of the Charter Oak-Ute School was met on the above date in the Charter Oak Center with Directors Weed, Schultz, McAndrews, Goslar (by phone), Klinker, Superintendent Eggeling and Secretary Carstens were present. Director Goslar left at 6:26 p.m. President Weed called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Klinker to approve the agenda as presented. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by Klinker to approve the 2021-2022 Budget amendment. Ayes all. Motion carried. There being no further business it was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Schultz to adjourn the meeting at 6:37 p.m. Ayes all. Motion carried. Director Goslar left meeting at 6:26 p.m. Also present was Paula Harris, Jessi Jepsen, Laura Martz and Jim Staley. President Weed called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by Klinker to approve the agenda as presented. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by McAndrews to approve the consent items listed below. Ayes all. Motion carried. • Approval of the Minutes of the Regular Meeting on April 12, 2022 • Approval of the Minutes of the Budget Hearing Meeting on April 12, 2022 • Fundraising Approvals • All Financial Reports • Invoices for Payment Superintendent Eggeling discussed freezers, cookout, legislative issues, HVAC, restroom renovations, curricular coordinator and school board appreciation. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by McAndrews to accept the 2022-2023 staff handbook. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Klinker to approve Jake Hopp as the director of operation and management at a salary of $47,500.00 with $630.00 insurance stipend. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Klinker, seconded by Schultz to offer Jim Staley a ½ time assistant principal contract. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by McAndrews to approve the classified starting salary as $11.00 an hour. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Klinker to approve the ISFIS membership for school year 2022-2023. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by McAndrews to approve the changed and new 800 series board policies. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Klinker, seconded by McAndrews to waive the first reading consider this the second reading and approve the 800 board policy series. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Klinker to set the June board meeting for June 27, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Klinker to approve the tuck pointing projects. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Klinker to approve the 4.79% pay increase for the administrative staff. Ayes all. Motion carried. The board discussed future agenda items.
