CHARTER OAK-UTE COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD OF DIRECTORS ANNUAL MEETING NOVEMBER 21, 2022 The Board of Directors of the Charter Oak-Ute School met on the above date in the Charter Oak Center with Directors Goslar, Klinker, McAndrews, Schultz, Weed, Superintendent Eggeling and Secretary Carstens present. President Weed called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by McAndrews to approve the agenda for Annual Meeting. Ayes all. Motion carried. Superintendent Eggeling and Secretary Carstens discussed the end of year reports for school year 2021-2022. It was moved by Klinker, seconded by Schultz to approve the 2021-2022 end of year reports. Ayes all. Motion carried. The board discussed unfinished business for the 2021-2022 school year. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Klinker to appoint Cathy Carstens as the Secretary/Treasurer for the 2022-2023 school year. Ayes all. Motion carried. There being no further business it was moved by Schultz, seconded by Goslar to adjourn the meeting at 5:20 p.m. Ayes all. Motion carried. President Weed called the meeting to order at 5:20 p.m. It was moved by Klinker, seconded by McAndrews to approve the Regular and Organizational meeting agenda. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by Goslar to approve the consent items. Ayes all. Motion carried. Approval of the Minutes of the Regular Meeting on October 17, 2022 Approval of All Financial Reports Approval of All Invoices for Payments Approval of Fundraising Requests It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Klinker to appoint Cathy Carstens as the temporary chairperson for organizational meeting. Ayes all. Motion carried. Temporary Chairperson called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Temporary Chairperson Carstens asked for nominations for president. Director McAndrews nominated Randy Weed It was moved by Klinker, seconded by McAndrews to cease nominations. Ayes all. Motion carried. Randy Weed is elected President President Weed took over the meeting President Weed asked for nominations for vice president. Director McAndrews nominated Kyle Schultz It was moved by Klinker, seconded by Goslar to cease nominations. Ayes all. Motion carried. Director Schultz is elected Vice President It was moved Schultz, seconded by McAndrews to set the board meeting on the third Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m. in the Library at the Charter Oak Center. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by Klinker to name and set the Community Bank and the United Bank of Iowa up to 5 million each as the designated depositories. Ayes- Goslar, Schultz, Klinker, Weed. Abstained- McAndrews. Motion carried. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Klinker to approve the Mapleton Press as the official publication. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by Klinker to name Ahlers and Cooney as the designated attorney for the district. Ayes all. Motion carried. Superintendent Eggeling discussed parent teacher conferences, Veterans Day, ESSA, vehicles, HVAC/bathroom, concerts and career day. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Goslar to appoint Jill Klinker to the Crawford County Conference Board Member. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Goslar, seconded by Schultz to appoint Melanie McAndrews to the Monona County Conference Board Member. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by Goslar to approve the SBRC application for increased open enrollment out in the amount of $18,790.20. Ayes all. Motion carried. It w as moved by McAndrews, seconded by Klinker to approve the SBRC application for increased enrollment in the amount of $84,508.20. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by Klinker to set the joint board meeting with MVAO for January 9th at 6:30 p.m. in Mapleton. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Schultz, seconded by Klinker to purchase 5 buys cameras and installation in the total amount of $11,690.40. Ayes all. Motion carried. The board discussed future agenda items.
