Charter Oak City Council Special Meeting & Work Session Minutes February 20, 2024 The Charter Oak City Council met for a special meeting and work session with the Charter Oak Fire Department on February 20, 2024. Mayor Peggy Staley called the meeting to order at 6:31 PM. Members present were Alec Castillo, Ben Heyne, Tracy Helmhold and Nate Mohr. Members absent were Russ Maack. Others in attendance were Ashley Mohr, Chief Kyle Miller and Assistant Chief Jake Hopp. Motion Castillo/Heyne to approve agenda. All ayes. Motion carried. Motion Mohr/Castillo to authorize obtaining a loan from United Bank of Iowa up to $95,000 for the purchase of a tanker truck to replace the current truck, and to use Dorsey and Whitney as the bond attorney. Ayes: Mohr, Castillo, Helmhold. Nays: None. Abstained: Ben Heyne. Motion carried. A budget work session was then held for the council and fire department. Motion Heyne/Castillo to adjourn at 7:42 PM.
