Monona County Sanitary Landfill Agency Regular Board Meeting March 17th, 2026 Chairman Keith Zediker called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. Present: Keith Zediker, Kirk Rose, Becky Miller, Ryan Clark, Manager Logan Persinger, Secretary/Board Secretary Amanda Yanak D. Thompson (Siouxland Scale Service) & J. Niewohner (Niewohner Constriction) attened the meeting from 10:35 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. Approval of Minutes: Board meeting minutes from February 17th, 2026 were presented by A. Yanak. K. Rose made a motion to accept the minutes. R. Clark seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. No further discussion. Treasurer’s Report: A. Yanak presented the expenditures and CD’s were reviewed. In February, expenditures equaled $51,337.23 and deposits equaled $36,012.78. All the CD’s are up for renewal.R. Clark made a motion to accept the financial statement and to renew the CD’s at an interests rate of 3.3% for a term of six months. B. Miller seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Secretary Report: A. Yanak stated that the bid sheet proposed last month from Siouxland Shredding includes tire disposal. R. Clark made a motion to give Siouxland Shredding a try at a rate of $330 per ton for the pickup, shredding, and disposal of tires. K. Rose seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. A. Yanak presented a draft of the Fiscal Year 26/27 Budget. Approval of the Budget will be at the next meeting. Manager’s Report: K. Rose made a motion proposing a 3% raise for all full-time employees beginning June 20th, 2026. B. Miller seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. L. Persinger stated the skid loader could be traded in for a new one plus $7,000.00. No auction took place. L. Persinger presented two bids for new scale. B. Miller made a motion to accept the bid from Siouxland Scale Services in the amount of $129,173.00 for a 12-foot-wide by 50-foot-long scale. Construction is scheduled to begin April 20, 2026, and is expected to last 10-14 days. R. Clark seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. A. Yanak will place the construction notice in the newspaper, post it on social media, and contact the garbage companies. L. Persinger reported that the hydraulic cylinder and tires on the telehandler were undergoing repair at the time. L. Persinger presented three bids for the purchase of a new lawn mower. R. Clark moved to accept the bid submitted by Robertson Implement Co. for a Gravely HD60 mower. The motion was seconded by K. Rose. Motion carried unanimously. K. Rose moved to allocate $5,000 to the Monona County Fair for grandstand repairs. The motion was seconded by R. Clark. Motion carried unanimously. Chairman K.
