MONONA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING NOVEMBER 26, 2024 The Monona County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. o’clock on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 in the boardroom of the courthouse in Onawa, Monona County, Iowa with Chairman Fox presiding. Other Supervisors present: Tom Brouillette and Vince Phillips. Supervisor Absent: None. Also present was Auditor Peggy A. Rolph. Motion was made by Supervisor Phillips, seconded by Supervisor Fox to approve the agenda. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Senator Kevin Alons was present to discuss county issues with the Board of Supervisors with no action taken. Wray Wright was also present. Present, along with the Supervisors and Auditor for the Elected Official / Director Meeting, were: Kelly Seward, Recorder; Patrick Prorok, EMA Director; Jim Wigton, IT Director; Haley Bryan, County Attorney; Kevin Ewing, Sheriff; Charles Bechtold, Secondary Roads Engineer; Sandy Bubke, Zoning/Environmental Health Administrator; Sharon Gries, Chief Deputy Assessor; Mark Witzel, Veterans Affairs Director; Wray Wright and Senator Kevin Alons. Absent were Abby Riesberg, Treasurer and Josh Schaben, Conservation Director. Activities were discussed and information was shared. Secondary Roads Engineer Charles Bechtold was present for Secondary Roads business. Motion was made by Supervisor Phillips, seconded by Supervisor Brouillette to rescind Resolution SR-34 Wage Adjustment Maintenance Shop Foreman. Vote on motion: Ayes: Brouillette and Phillips. Nays: Fox. Motion carried. Supervisor Brouillette introduced and moved to adopt the following Resolution, seconded by Supervisor Phillips: RESOLUTION NO. SR 24-35 The Board of Supervisors consents to adjust salary of Maintenance Shop Foreman to equivalent of Area Road Foreman Salary. Current Classification: Maintenance Shop Foreman (Effective 07-23-2023) Current Salary: $61,800.00 Yearly Proposed Salary: $67,380.85 Yearly (Effective 11-24-2024) The Maintenance Shop Foreman is a management, salaried and exempt from overtime. A Maintenance Shop Foreman will not be paid overtime for work over 40 hours in a week; work in excess of 40 hours may be required at times to ensure appropriate performance of essential job functions. Holidays, vacation, personal leave, and sick leave will be the same as outlined in the Monona County Handbook. A Maintenance Shop Foreman is expected to give 4 weeks minimum notice before resignation or retirement. Auditor Rolph presented the utility replacement tax billing correction from the Department of Revenue to the Board.
