MONONA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING MAY 6, 2025 The Monona County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. o’clock on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in the boardroom of the courthouse in Onawa, Monona County, Iowa with Chairman Fox presiding. Other Supervisors present: Tom Brouillette and Vince Phillips. Supervisor Absent: None. Also present was Auditor Peggy A. Rolph. Motion was made by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Brouillette to approve the agenda. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion was made by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Brouillette to acknowledge receipt of Whitney Wessling’s resignation as the Treasurer’s Driver’s License Deputy. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion was made by Supervisor Phillips, seconded by Supervisor Brouillette to give Treasurer Abby Riesberg authorization to advertise for Motor Vehicle/Driver’s License Clerk. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Secondary Roads Engineer Charles Bechtold was present for Secondary Roads business. Discussion items were FEMA, Bridge Program, pavement marking, and hauling rock. No action taken. Amy Borchardt-Sick and Tammy Blinde, Drainage Clerks, were present for Drainage business. Brouillette approved the drainage claims, seconded by Phillips. The claims are on file in the drainage office. Vote on motion: Ayes: Brouillette, Phillips and Fox. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion was made by Supervisor Phillips, seconded by Supervisor Fox to give Auditor Peggy Rolph authorization to transfer Tammy Blinde from the Drainage Office to the Auditor’s Office. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion was made by Supervisor Brouillette, seconded by Supervisor Fox to authorize the Chairman’s signature on status/payroll change report for Tammy Blinde. Tammy will be going from Drainage Clerk to Auditor Deputy. Her wage will go from $20.71 per hour to $25.02 per hour (70% of Auditorís salary). Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion was made by Supervisor Phillips, seconded by Supervisor Brouillette to give Auditor Peggy Rolph authorization to advertise for a Drainage Clerk. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion was made by Supervisor Phillips, seconded by Supervisor Fox to approve the minutes of April 29, 2025, as read. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion was made by Supervisor Phillips, seconded by Supervisor Brouillette to authorize the Chairmanís signature on roofing contract with Walker Brothers Roofing. Motion was made by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Brouillette to table approving job description for Deputy Auditor. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion was made by Supervisor Brouillette, seconded by Supervisor Fox to acknowledge receipt of Manure Management Annual update for Jordan Ridge Poultry LLC Facility #71185. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion was made by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Phillips to acknowledge receipt of Manure Management Annual Updated for Bar 7 LLC-Kelly Coberly Facility #71297. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion was made by Supervisor Brouillette, seconded by Supervisor Fox to authorize the Chairman’s signature on status/payroll change report for Kelsey Kafton. Kelsey will be going from Clerk to Driver’s License Deputy. Her wage will go from $20.76 per hour to $25.38 per hour (75% of the Treasurer salary). Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion was made by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Phillips to authorize the Chairman’s signature on status/payroll change report for Lark Pratt. She will be going from $25.04 per hour (74% of Treasurer’s salary) to $26.39 per hour (78% of Treasurer’s salary). Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried.
