MONONA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING JULY 1, 2025 The Monona County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. o’clock on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in the boardroom of the courthouse in Onawa, Monona County, Iowa with Chairman Fox presiding. Other Supervisors present: Tom Brouillette and Vince Phillips. Supervisor Absent: None. Also present was Auditor Peggy A. Rolph. Motion was made by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Phillips to approve the agenda. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Secondary Roads Engineer Charles Bechtold, Secondary Roads Office Manager Deleta Huffman, and Wray Wright were present for Secondary Roads business. Motion was made by Supervisor Brouillette, seconded by Supervisor Fox to approve and authorize the Supervisorís signatures on plans, proposal, and notice to bidderís forms for the Farm to Market Rock Hauling Project FM-C067(95)ó55-67. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion was made by Supervisor Phillips, seconded by Supervisor Fox to set the letting date of July 22, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. for the Farm to Market Rock Hauling Project FM-C067(95)ó55-67. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion was made by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Phillips to set the date to award the contract for the Farm to Market Rock Hauling Project FM-C067(95)ó55-67 for 10:30 a.m. on July 29, 2025. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Keith Miller was present inquiring about the alley acquisition in Ticonic behind his property. A survey has been done, Charles will review what has been completed and get back to Keith. No action taken. Discussion items were Hungry Canyons funding, irrigation notice in the papers, FEMA, rock hauling, tree removal, and following the procurement policy. No action taken. Amy Borchardt-Sick and Ashley Brown, Drainage Clerks, were present for Drainage business. It was determined by Engineer Rasmussen that the tube on Oliver Lake Lat 1 would not be eligible for FEMA assistance. It was moved by Fox, seconded by Phillips to approve the monthly claims. Claims are on file in the drainage office. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Phillips and Brouillette. Nays: None. Motion carried. It was moved by Fox, seconded by Brouillette to approve adding Ashley Brown to the US Bank and the United Bank of Iowa accounts. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Phillips and Brouillette. Nays: None. Motion carried. McNeill Lat 8 was discussed regarding the Sunoco pipeline that needs to be lowered. No action taken. Supervisor Phillips attended the Siouxland Regional Transportation System and SIMPCO meetings, he shared the information presented. Supervisor Fox attended the Monona County Economic Development meeting, he shared the information presented.
