MONONA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING JANUARY 8, 2025 The Monona County Board of Supervisors met in special session at 6:30 p.m. o’clock on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in the basement of the Law Enforcement Center in Onawa, Monona County, Iowa with Chairman Fox presiding. Other Supervisors present: Vince Phillips. Supervisor Absent: Tom Brouillette. Also present was Auditor Peggy A. Rolph. Present, along with the Supervisors and Auditor, for the discussion on the 2024 flood preparation, response, and continued efforts for repairing county infrastructure and possible concerns for 2025 flooding were Wade Pitt, Blencoe Fire Department; Adam Hadden, Burgess Public Health; Michael Mohn, Moorhead Fire Department; Josh Schaben, Monona County Conservation; Kevin Ewing, Monona County Sheriff; Patrick Prorok, Monona County EMA Director; Dave Poole, Turin Mayor; Marie Bruns-LeClair, Whiting City Clerk; Adam Sutton, Onawa Fire Department; David Jensen, Castana Fire Department; Brian Kepner, Little Sioux Intercounty Drainage Superintendent; Charlie Bechtold, Monona County Engineer; Lonnie Campbell, Onawa Mayor; and Charlie Persinger, Monona County Economic Development Director. The group discussed the response and recovery for the 2024 flood and things that were done well, as well as things that need improvement. Possible future flooding was also discussed. No action taken. Supervisor Phillips to hereby adjourn at the hour of 7:15 p.m. o’clock. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None.
