Minutes Of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Schleswig Community School District March 9, 2026 Call to Order: President Gurney called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Members Present: Rachel Jacobson, Danette Miller, Trevor Nemitz, Ross Wood Absent: None Administration: Kim Buryanek, Andrea Gurney, Mallory Meyer Others Present: Rianna Furne, Jen Hibma, Danae Petersen Correspondence: None Consent Items - Rachel Jacobson moved, seconded by Ross Wood to approve the consent items (agenda, minutes, bills, and financial reports). Motion carried 4-0. Danette Miller arrived at 5:30 pm. Public Hearing on the Schleswig CSD 2026-2027 Calendar – President Gurney called the Public Hearing to order at 5:30 pm. There being no oral or written comments, the public hearing was closed at 5:31 pm. Personnel Report a) Resignations- Trevor Nemitz moved, seconded by Rachel Jacobson to approve the resignation of Dannielle Book-Lundt, Middle School Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher. Motion carried 5-0. b) Appointments- None SEA Report – None Superintendent Report a) Approve Schleswig CSD Calendar for the 2026-2027 School Year – Rachel Jacobson moved, seconded by Ross Wood to approve the calendar as presented. Motion carried 5-0. b) Approve Three-Year Agreement with RelayHub, LLC for Medicaid Reimbursement Services – Ross Wood moved, seconded by Trevor Nemitz to approve the agreement as presented. Motion carried 5-0. c) Approve AEA Purchasing Agreement for 2026-2027 School Year – Rachel Jacobson moved, seconded by Danette Miller to approve the agreement as presented. Motion carried 5-0. f) Discuss Preliminary FY27 Budget – Mallory Meyer presented budget information for discussion. g) Update on Elementary HVAC Project – Dr. Buryanek reported that contractors were onsite today measuring classrooms in preparation for ordering the HVAC units. h) Approve 2026-2027 Student Handbook – Rachel Jacobson moved, seconded by Trevor Nemitz to approve the handbook as presented. Motion carried 5-0. i) Approve Settlement Agreement for 2026-2027 for Teachers, Administrator, Support Staff, and Transportation – Rachel Jacobson moved, seconded by Danette Miller to approve the settlement agreement as presented. Motion carried 4-0 with Gurney abstaining. j) Administrator Update Mrs. Gurney shared: • Two boys will participate in Middle School Track which begins next week. • At least 10 students will participate in the spring ESports season competing in Rocket League and Mario Kart. • 5th and 6th grade students will perform in the Honor Choir at Lewis Central on March 10. • 3rd Quarter ends on Friday, March 13. • There will be no school on Monday, March 16 for Teacher Inservice which will focus on the new ELA curriculum. • 1st-5th grade students will attend the Seed Survivor presentation on March 17. • Parent Teacher Conferences will be on March 30 and 31. • Spring Break is April 2-6. • Kindergarten Round Up will be held April 9. • ISASP Testing will start the week of April 13 and continue for two weeks. k) Reminder of Public Hearing on FY27 Budget on March 20 at 12:00 pm and April 13, 2026 regular board meeting at 5:30 pm Adjournment – There being no further business to come before the Board for consideration at this time, the meeting was adjourned at 6:35 pm.
