Mapleton Municipal Utility – Mapleton, Iowa July 14, 2026 The regular meeting of the Mapleton Municipal Electric board was held July 14, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. in the City Hall council chambers. Members present were James R. Else, Daniel Comes and Chris Blake. Others in attendance were Ashley Mohr, Jayden McFarland, Karen Koenigs and Library Director Anni Paulsen. Motion by Daniel Comes, second by Chris Blake to approve the agenda/minutes. All ayes. Motion carried. Motion by Daniel Comes, second by Chris Blake to approve payment of bills as presented. All ayes. Motion carried. Motion by Daniel Comes, second by Chris Blake to accept financial statements. All ayes. Motion carried. Motion by Chris Blake, second by Dan Comes to approve library funding in the amount of $9,000.00 to the Fisher-Whiting Memorial Library for the 26/27 FY. All ayes. Motion carried. Motion by Chris Blake, second by Daniel Comes to approve after hours work phone call compensation to be included in the $150.00 on call pay, and if you get called out for work/emergencies after normal business hours is an automatic 2 hours pay. All ayes. Motion carried. Motion by Chris Blake, second by Daniel Comes to nominated and approve James R. Else as board president for another 6-year term. All ayes. Motion carried. Motion by Daniel Comes, second by Chris Blake to approve renewing two electric investment cd’s for 18 months at 3.6% with Shelby County State Bank. All ayes. Motion carried.
