Opening of Meeting-President Wimmer called the meeting to order and declared a quorum at 7:03pm II. Communications – Mrs. Else asked what the date range was for the wages in the paper. They are from 7/1/24 through 6/30/25. III. Consent Agenda – Streck moved and Schram seconded to approve the consent agenda. 5 ayes. Motion carried. General $163,963.09; Management $1,596; PPEL $5,235.54; Activity $8,100.25; Infrastructure $47,429.16; Extra&Hourly Pay $58,543.84. IV. Action Items Employee Resignations/Contract Modifications/Hiring – Hamann movecd and Kennedy seconded to approve the contracts for Josh Koenigs, Head Junior High Football Coach; Nate Lefebvre, Assistant Junior High Football Coach; and Cheslee Yockey, Assistant Junior High Volleyball Coach. 5 ayes. Motion carried. B. IASB Priority List 2024-2025 – Streck moved and Hamann seconded to approve the following IASB priority lists: 1. School Safety; 2. State Aid; 3. Teacher retention; 4. Mental Health; 5. Literacy. 5 ayes. Motion carried. C. Foreign Exchange Students 2025-206 – there are no foreign exchange students to approve at this time. D. Board Policy Review: 100, 200, 400, 500, 600 Series Updates – Streck moved and Schram seconded to approve the reading policies 102-104.E3; 211, and 402.2-411.2. 5 ayes. Motion carried. Klingensmith will send the board an open meetings webinar to view as part of these changes. E. Approval of Elementary, Middle School, and High School Handbooks- Kennedy moved and Hamann seconded to approve the handbooks with the discussed changes. 5 ayes. Motion carried. F. Approval of 2025-2026 Preschool Handbook – Schram moved and Kennedy seconded to approve the preschool handbook. 5 ayes. Motion carried. Our Mapleton 4 year old preschool is full. We still have spots available in Anthon, and are still actively seeking a preschool teacher for the Anthon building. G. 2025-2026 Emergency Operations Plan – Streck moved and Schram seconded to approve the 25-26 EOP. 5 ayes. Motion carried. H.. District Purchase of Property for Purpose of Greenhouse – The city lawyer was unavailable last month to discuss zoning changes on this property. The council meets again this month to discuss this. Mrs. Else asked the board if they have considered other options for a greenhouse site on land the district already owns. Schram moved and Kennedy seconded to table this item until more information is gathered. 5 ayes. Motion carried. V. Discussion Items A. Superintendent’s Report B. Adjourn – President Wimmer adjourned the meeting at 8:33pm. Due to technical difficulties the closed session will be moved to the September meeting.
