MAPLE VALLEY-ANTHON OTO COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MEETING Date: Monday, March 3, 2025 Time: 7:00 PM Place: Board Room, Mapleton Central Office Present: Schram, Hamann, Kennedy, and Streck. Wimmer arrived at 7:24 PM Others: 9 guests I. Opening of Meeting - Vice President Streck called the meeting to order and declared a quorum at 7:16 PM II. Action Items A. Employee Resignations/Hiring/Contract Modifications - Hamann moved and Schram seconded to approve the resignations of Andrew Armstead (HS Principal) and Lia Tirevold (HS Cheer Coach), effective at the end of the school year. 4 ayes. Motion carried. B. Athletic Complex Upgrade - Mr Scholl and Mr. Burger presented ideas for improvements at our track. Streck moved and Schram seconded to approve the following purchases: High Jump Pit $6.282.34; Baseball cage nets $11,738; Shot put rings $3,838.49; Windscreen $8,000; and Track shed $15,605. Mr. McElmuray and the shop students will provide the labor to build the shed. 5 ayes. Motion carried. C. Shared Agreement for Educational Consortium - Streck moved and Hamann seconded to approve theshared educational consortium agreement. 5 ayes. Motion carried. D. Budget Presentation – Set 2 Budget Hearings for March 24th and April 14th, 2025 - Klingensmith presented the budget and it was discussed by the board. Kennedy moved and Hamann seconded to set our budget hearings for Mar 24, 2025at 7:00 pm in Mapleton and Apr 14, 2025 at 7:00 pm in Anthon. 5 ayes. Motion carried. III. Exempt Session for discussion of negotiations strategy - the board continued in an exempt session to discuss negotiations. IV. Adjourn - President Wimmer adjourned the meeting at 9:43 PM.
