MAPLE VALLEY-ANTHON OTO AND CHARTER OAK-UTE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS ANNUAL JOINT SCHOOL BOARD MEETING MINUTES Date: Wednesday, January 14th, 2026 Time: 7:00 PM Place: Room 103, Charter Oak-Ute Elementary and Middle School AGENDA: I. Opening of Meeting A. Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Melanie McAndrews and Dale Wimmer, presidents of CO-U and MVAO boards of education. B. Roll Call and Declaration of Quorum Present from Charter Oak-Ute Board: Melanie McAndrews, Tanner Weed, Greg Amundsen, Adam Hadden, and Jill Klinker Present from Maple Valley-Anthon Board: Dale Wimmer, Laurie Streck, Jana Hamann, and Rob Paulsen. Absent: Jeremy Schram Attendance: Adam Eggeling, Jeff Thelander, Cathy Carstens, and Jennifer Kinsey II. Discussion Items A. General Discussion of Whole Grade Sharing Agreement Conversation focused on continually exploring ways to bring students together to help the transition to the high school. Both boards expressed appreciation for the opportunities and relationships afforded at MVAOCOU High School. B. Future Plans/Preparation: Opportunities for sharing resources At this time the districts are almost at full capacity for sharing agreement funding and both boards discussed satisfaction with the current sharing arrangements. C. Shared Calendar for 2026-2027 The boards reviewed the options for the 2026-2027 calendar and agreed that a shared calendar was essential for transportation, etc. The two boards will conduct public meetings during February and March board meetings for Mr. Eggeling and Mr. Thelander to present and discuss calendar options before a final approval is given by the boards later this sring. D. Other Discussion Items as needed III. Adjourn Motion made by McAndrews and seconded by Amundsen to adjourn the meeting, Wimmer adjourned the meeting at 7:28 PM.
