City of Ute ORDINANCE 226 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE UTE MUNICIPAL CODE, 2017, TITLE VI – PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT CHAPTER 5 UTILITIES – BILLING CHARGES BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UTE, IOWA: SECTION 1. Title VI – Physical Environment, Chapter 5 Utilities – BILLING CHARGES, Section 6-5-8 WATER RATES is repealed and the following adopted in lieu thereof: 6-5-8 WATER RATES Water shall be furnished at the following monthly rates per property services within the City limits: (Code of Iowa Sec. 384.84(1)) The base charge shall be $25.13 per household or business building per billing month. In addition to the base charge, the customer shall be billed for the gallonage used as follows: $0.965 cents per 100 gal. SECTION 2. REPEALER. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 4. WHEN EFFECTIVE. This ordinance shall be in effect on March 1, 2024 from and after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
