City of Mapleton ORDINANCE NO. 484 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF MAPLETON, IOWA, BY AMENDING SECTION 106.08(1) ENTITLED COLLECTION FEES BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MAPLETON, IOWA: SECTION 1. SECTION AMENDED. Section 106.08(1) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Mapleton, Iowa, is hereby repealed and the following adopted in lieu thereof: As of May 1, 2024 Fees. The fees for solid waste collection and disposal service, used or available, for each residential premises and for each dwelling unit of multiple-family dwelling are $10.25 plus $3.23 landfill charges and $1.50 City retainage for a total of $14.98 per month for the use of a 65-gallon container and $10.25 plus $5.38 landfill charges and $1.50 City retainage for a total of $17.13 per month for the use of a 95-gallon container. A fifty-cent ($.50) delinquent charge shall be assessed if the bill is not paid by the due date. As of March 1, 2026 Fees. The fees for solid waste collection and disposal service, used or available, for each residential premises and for each dwelling unit of multiple-family dwelling are $10.58 plus $3.23 landfill charges and $1.50 City retainage for a total of $15.31 per month for the use of a 65-gallon container and $10.58 plus $5.38 landfill charges and $1.50 City retainage for a total of $17.46 per month for the use of a 95-gallon container. A fifty-cent ($.50) delinquent charge shall be assessed if the bill is not paid by the due date. As of March 1, 2028 Fees. The fees for solid waste collection and disposal service, used or available, for each residential premises and for each dwelling unit of multiple-family dwelling are $10.90 plus $3.23 landfill charges and $1.50 City retainage for a total of $15.63 per month for the use of a 65-gallon container and $10.90 plus $5.38 landfill charges and $1.50 City retainage for a total of $17.78 per month for the use of a 95-gallon container. A fifty-cent ($.50) delinquent charge shall be assessed if the bill is not paid by the due date. SECTION 2. REPEALER. The remainder of Chapter 106 shall remain the same. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof, not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 4. WHEN EFFECTIVE. This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by law. ***** Councilperson Benita Uhl moved to consider for the first read the foregoing proposed ordinance.
