City of Mapleton Minutes - Regular Council Meeting May 14, 2025 The regular meeting of the city council was held May 14, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. Roll call was taken with the following members present, Mayor Streck, Benita Uhl, Abby Koenigs, Jacob Zawodny and Zach Schrader. Absent was Joe Hogan. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Attorney Mike Schmiedt was also present. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Jacob Zawodny to approve minutes from the previous meeting. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Jacob Zawodny, second by Benita Uhl to approve the agenda. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Zach Schrader to approve renewal of Willow Vale Golf Club liquor license. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Abby Koenigs, second by Zach Schrader to approve Chrissy Moffit replacing Stephanie Armstead on the library board. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Jacob Zawodny to approve the 4th of July liquor license. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Zach Schrader to approve the 4th of July committee’s events. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Abby Koenigs, to approve the cost to re-key all the locks on the airport hangars. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Jacob Zawodny, second by Zach Schrader to approve the following fees for the 2025 swimming pool: family pass - $165.00; single pass - $75.00; senior pass - $35.00; 10 punch card - $35.00; daily pass - $5.00; evening pass - $3.00; babysitting pass - $20.00. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Jacob Zawodny to approve renewal of Casey’s cigarette permit. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Jacob Zawodny, second by Benita Uhl for the city attorney to review the fee schedule to add a fine of $20.00 for not licensing a dog. Ayes: All Motion carried. Motion by Abby Koenigs, second by Zach Schrader to approve pool pass prize for the library. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Abby Koenigs to approve payment of the bills as presented. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Zach Schrader, second by Jacob Jacoby to adjourn the meeting.
