City of Charter Oak ORDINANCE NO. 197-24 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CHARTER OAK, IOWA, BY AMENDING PROVISIONS TO SEWER RATES BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Charter Oak, Iowa: SECTION 1. SECTION MODIFIED. Section 3-3.0302 and Ordinance 183-15/16 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Charter Oak, Iowa, is repealed and the following adopted in lieu thereof: 3-3.0302 RENTAL RATE. Sewer service shall be furnished at the following rates within the City: 1. Minimum Monthly Charge. A minimum monthly charge of $20.00 per month will be billed to all properties connected to the City’s water system, whether the house or building is vacant or occupied. 2. Usage Fee. A sewer rental fee in the amount of $1.25 per 1,000 gallons of water used per month will be charged to the property served. SECTION 2. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. If any section, provision, or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 3. WHEN EFFECTIVE. This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final passage, approval, and publication as provided by law.
