Schleswig Community School District Minutes Of the Regular Meeting & Public Hearing of the Board of Directors of the Schleswig Community School District July 11, 2022 Agenda Regular Meeting Call to Order: President Gurney called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. Members Present: Wade Gurney, Rachel Jacobson, and Danette Miller Absent: Cindy March, Jason Schneider Administration: Mike Pardun, Superintendent, Scott Larson, Business Manager/Board Secretary, Andrea Gurney, Principal Others Present: Greg Gunderson Guests & Correspondence: None Consent Items - A motion was made by Rachel Jacobson, Second by Danette Miller, to approve the consent items (agenda, minutes, bills, and financial reports). Unanimous approval. Personnel Report a) Resignations- None. b) Appointments- Danette Miller moved to approve the appointments of Sylvia Friedrichsen, Terra Winey, Carl Benge, and Jody Walsh, four teachers. Second by Rachel Jacobson. Ayes: Miller, Jacobson, Gurney. Motion Carried. SEA Report-None Superintendent Report a) Update on Staffing for 2022-2023 -Associates-2 have been hired; 2 more being interviewed -Guidance Counselor-still looking b) Update on Preparation for Next School Year-Mr. Pardun and Mrs. Gurney gave updates on various items -Team Beautify—started in entry way and has morphed to other areas of the building; Bluespace isworking on some signage for different areas -Kitchen drain/dishwasher—replacement drain has been installed, dishwasher is on the way -Food Stand—discussion -School Supplies—good portion have been purchased; need to communicate with SeeSaw/email -School Safety—Emergency Plan is being reviewed, will be shared w/board and staff in August New wood chips to be installed on the playground Discussion on windows throughout the building -Vision/Mission Update—graphics are being designed Greg Gunderson gave an update New school website—it is ADA compliant and mobile responsive Building cameras—all should be ready by the time school starts c) Approval of Adult Meal Prices 2022-2023 – Rachel Jacobson moved to approve the adult meal prices at $4.25 for the 2022-23 school year. Second by Danette Miller. Ayes: Jacobson, Miller, and Gurney. Nays: None. Motion Carried. d) Second Reading of Board Policies: 200.3 Responsibilities of the Board of Directors, 710.1E1 School Nutrition Program Notices of Nondiscrimination, 710.1E2 Child Nutrition Program Civil Rights Complaint Form, 710.1R1 School Nutrition Program Civil Rights Complaints Procedure, and 802.4 Capital Assets-Danette Miller moved to approve the second reading of the aforementioned policies. Second by Rachel Jacobson. Ayes: Miller, Jacobson, and Gurney. Nays: None. Motion Carried. e) Next Regular Meeting-The next regular board meeting will be held on August 8, 2022, at 5:30 pm.
