MAPLE VALLEY-ANTHON OTO COMMUNITY SCHOOL 2nd BUDGET HEARING AND BOARD MEETING Monday, April 22nd, 2024 7:00 PM Board Room, Central Office, Mapleton, Iowa Present: Wimmer, Streck, Kennedy, Hamann, and Schram; 3 guests Absent: None I. Opening of Meeting President Wimmer called the meeting to order and declared a quorum at 7:00 PM C. SECOND BUDGET HEARING of Proposed Budget for FY 2025- Wimmer opened the budget hearing at 7:00 PM and closed it at 7:10 PM. Schram moved and Streck seconded to approve the proposed budget for FY25. 5 ayes. Motion carried. II. Action Items A. Employee Resignations/Contract Modifications/Hiring- Schram moved and Hamann seconded to approve the resignation of Katherine Dirksen as Junior Class Sponsor, upon finding a suitable replacement. 5 ayes. Motion carried. B. Board Policy Review – Hamann moved and Kennedy seconded to approve the reading of board policies 100, 101, 102, and 102.E3. 5 ayes. Motion carried. C. New Phone System Bid Plan – Vinnie Mendez, our architect, went over the bid plan with the board. Streck moved and Schram seconded to approve the RFP and bid process for a new phone system. 5 ayes. Motion carried. D. 28E Contracts with Western Iowa Tech for 2024-2025 School Year – Schram moved and Hamann seconded to approve the 28E agreement with WITCC. 5 ayes. Motion carried. E. 2024-2025 Master Contract – Kennedy moved and Hamann seconded to approve the 24-25 Master contract and teaching contracts. 5 ayes. Motion carried. III. Announcements A. Next Regular Meeting- Wednesday, May 8, 2024, 7:00 PM- in Mapleton IX. Adjourn – President Wimmer adjourned the meeting at 8:06. The board met in exempt session from 8:07-8:55 PM.
