NOTICE TO ALL POTENTIAL MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES CITY/SCHOOL ELECTION NOVEMBER 4, 2025 Candidates seeking Mayor or City Council positions must file their Nomination Petition and Affidavit of Candidacy with the County Auditor within the respective date ranges shown below. Candidates filing for cities with Primary provisions can begin filing August 11-August 28, 2025, by 5:00 p.m. This includes Castana, Moorhead, Rodney, Soldier, Turin, and Whiting. Cities with Chapter 45 provisions can begin filing August 25-September 18, 2025, by 5:00 p.m. This includes Blencoe, Mapleton, Onawa, and Ute. Please note, candidates must file with the Monona County Auditor, not the City Clerks. All Nomination Papers and candidate information are available at your City Office, Auditor’s Office, or the Iowa Secretary of State website.
