City of Mapleton Minutes - Regular Council Meeting July 12, 2023 The regular meeting of the city council was held on July 12, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. Roll call was taken with the following members present, Mayor Brent Streck, Joe Hogan, Dian Bleil, Angie Sass, Benita Uhl and Abby Koenigs. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Dian Bleil to approve minutes from the previous meetings. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Angie Sass, second by Abby Koenigs to approve the order of the agenda. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Dian Bleil to proceed with second notices for those not in compliance after a first notice of nuisance abatement. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Joe Hogan, second by Dian Bleil to approve part-time police officer pay at $22.00 per hour. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Angie Sass, second by Joe Hogan that vests purchased for part-time officers are property of the City of Mapleton. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Angie Sass, second by Abby Koenigs to authorize hiring two additional part-time officers. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Joe Hogan to approve the second and third reading and adoption of Ordinance 478 regarding water rates. Ayes: Benita Uhl, Dian Bleil, Abby Koenigs, Angie Sass, Joe Hogan. Motion carried. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Angie Sass to approve the second and third reading and adoption of Ordinance 479 regarding sewer rates. Ayes: Dian Bleil, Benita Uhl, Angie Sass, Abby Koenigs, Joe Hogan. Motion carried. Motion by Abby Koenigs, second by Angie Sass to proceed with DGR preparing designs for Main Street from 7th Street to Chamberlain and drainage between Monona County Iron and Willow Vale Golf Course area. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Joe Hogan to approve payment of bills as presented. Ayes: All. Motion carried.
