NOTICE OF PROPOSED SALE OF COUNTY PROPERTY TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Monona County, Iowa Board of Supervisors, at its regular meeting on November 21, 2023 proposed to sell by sealed bids, (sealed bids are to be summited to the Monona County Auditorís Office by 4:00 p.m. on December 11, 2023), with a minimum bid of $100.00 certain property Monona County has acquired described as follows: A. Identified as: District/Parcel BLWM 8245-09-1-75-001 All that part of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter (SE º NE º) of section nine (9), township eighty-two (82) North, range forty-five (45) West of the 5th P.M., Monona County Iowa. Described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the Westerly extension of the South line of Maple Street with the West line of Front Street; thence Southerly along said West line of Front Street, a distance of 150 feet; thence Westerly along a line at right angles to the last described course, a distance of 25 feet, more or less, to a point that is distance 50 feet Easterly of, as measured at right angles from the center line of the Chicago and North Western Railway Company main track, as now located and established; thence Northerly along a line parallel with said main track center line, a distance of 150 feet more or less, to a point on a line drawn at right angles to said West line of Front Street from the above described point of beginning; thence Easterly along said right angle line, a distance of 25 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that December 5, 2023 at 11:30 A.M. has been fixed as the date and time, for the public hearing on the proposed sale. The hearing will be held in the Monona County Board of Supervisorís Room in the Courthouse at 610 Iowa Avenue in Onawa, Iowa, at which time interested parties may appear and be heard for or against the proposed auction sale. YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that in the event there are no valid objections to the proposed sale at the hearing set above, it was proposed to open bids and have the conveyance of property on December 12, 2023, at 11:30 A.M. the above listed property. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any technicalities in any bids. Monona County also reserves the right to cancel or postpone the sale of the properties. If no acceptable sealed bids are received for the properties, Monona County reserves the right to negotiate a sale or other disposition of the properties. YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the properties will be sold as is, where is, with no warranties of any kind. No abstract or warranty of title will be furnished with the properties. Title to the properties will be transferred by executing and delivering a quit claim deed at the time full payment is received. The successful bidder will be responsible for paying for the properties by 4:00 P.M. on December 12, 2023, or the properties may be made available to the next highest bidder in descending order. In addition to payment of the purchase price in full, the successful bidder will also be required to pay the deed recording fee in advance, so the County can record the deed in the Monona County Recorder’s Office before delivering it to the successful bidder.
