Monona County Sanitary Landfill Agency Regular Board Meeting October 11th, 2022 Chairman Keith Zediker called the meeting to order at 9:44 am. Present: Keith Zediker, Becky Miller, Kirk Rose, Chad Carrier, Manager Logan Persinger, and Office Secretary/Board Secretary Amanda Yanak Absent: Ryan Clark. Approval of Minutes: Board meeting minutes from September 13th, 2022 were presented by A. Yanak. C. Carrier made a motion to accept the minutes. B. Miller seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. No further discussion Treasurers Report: Expenditures and CD’s were reviewed. In September expenditures equalled $64,748.93 and deposits equalled $67,508.44. C. Carrier made a motion to accept the financial statements as proposed. K. Rose seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Secretary’s Report: A. Yanak gave an update that Kelsey Peterson from Schroer and Associates completed the audit last week October 4th- 5th, 2022. A. Yanak informed the board that all the CD’s at the Shelby County Bank have been changed to a higher interest rate and R. Clark and K. Zediker closed out the CD from United Bank and transferred it to Shelby County Bank for the higher interest rate. A.Yanak presented a resolution of pay for the pay raises given back on July 12th, 2022 (effective June 27th, 2022) B. Miller made a motion to approve the resolution and C. Carrier seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Manager’s Report: L. Persinger presented two bids for (4) new tires foam filled for the telehandler. Bauer Built from Omaha, NE presented a bid for $10,096.00 and RXC from Onawa, IA presented a bid for $8,560.00. B. Miller made a motion to accept RXC bid for $8,560.00. K. Rose seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. C. Carrier abstained from the vote. L. Persinger stated that we are still needing someone to install the rest of the cameras. After discussion there were suggestions on who to contact to replace the current camera system. L. Persinger stated the Iowa DNR came and inspected the landfill and transfer station suggesting to look into a barrel. He also stated Sundquist Engineering came and did the inspection of the transfer station and HLW came and inspected the landfill. Everything looks great at both locations. L. Persinger stated the DNR suggested we need a double wall or secondary containment for the fuel barrel. It was discussed for L. Persinger to look and get bids for the barrel. Discussion on adding credit cards to the Quickbooks. A. Yanak is to look into adding it to the quickbooks and getting it all set-up. Chairman K. Zediker adjourned the meeting at 10:37 a.m. Next meeting is Tuesday November 8th @ 9:30 a.m. These minutes are subject to change at the next meeting.
