Monona County Sanitary Landfill Agency Regular Board Meeting August 8th, 2023 Chairman Keith Zediker called the meeting to order at 9:30 am. Present: Keith Zediker, Ryan Clark, Kirk Rose, Manager Logan Persinger, Secretary/Board Secretary Amanda Yanak, Beau Hupke from Hoffman Agency Absent: Becky Miller Beau Hupke from Hoffman Agency presented the 2023-2024 insurance for the Monona County Sanitary Landfill Agency. Discussion and questions were held. R. Clark made a motion to accept the insurance proposal. K. Rose seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. B. Hupke left the meeting @ 9:57 a.m. Approval of Minutes: Board meeting minutes from July 11th, 2023 were presented by A. Yanak. K. Rose made a motion to accept the minutes. R. Clark seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. No further discussion. Treasurers Report: Expenditures and CD’s were reviewed. In July, expenditures equalled $88,406.10 and deposits equalled $176,297.74. A. Yanak stated the CD have been invested at the 4.5% for ten months. K. Rose made a motion to accept the financial statements and CD’s as proposed. C. Carrier seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Secretary’s Report: A. Yanak discussed the board terms and when every position will be up for reelection. C. Carrier was voted in by the City Mayors to fill the vacant position. A.Yanak presented the mobile office and port-a-pots for the office remodel. She also presented an updated estimate from Pro-Handyman Service to add a railings on the upper levels and the steps for the upper level. R. Clark made a motion to accept the total of $50,760.00 for the mobile office, port-a-pot rentals, and the office remodel. A. Yanak also stated that Siouxland Scale Service would need to come out to move the components of the scale. Yanak Yanak stated that a card reader has been purchased and is working great. Manager’s Report: L. Persinger stated that a letter went out to all roll-off companies and it was posted in the paper for two weeks. L. Persinger stated at the telehandler needs a new bucket. Discussion was held and decided for L. Persinger to get some quotes and for it to be discussed at the next meeting. Chairman K. Zediker adjourned the meeting at 10:36 a.m. Next meeting is Tuesday September 12th @ 9:30 a.m. These minutes are subject to change at the next meeting.
