MONONA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING JUNE 14, 2022 The Monona County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. o’clock on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in the boardroom of the courthouse in Onawa, Monona County, Iowa with Chairman Fox presiding. Other, Supervisors present: Tom Brouillette and Vince Phillips. Supervisor Absent: None. Also, present was Auditor Peggy A. Rolph. Motion was made by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Phillips to approve the agenda. Vote on motion: All Ayes. Motion carried. Abby Riesberg, Treasurer was present to explain the abatement of special assessment for the City of Rodney. Supervisor Phillips moved to introduce and adopt the following Resolution, seconded by Supervisor Brouillette: RESOLUTION 2022-22 RESOLUTION FOR ABATEMENT OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENT WHEREAS, the City of Rodney previously passed Resolution 2021-3 specially assessing the real properties commonly known as 308 3rd Street, Rodney, Iowa and 312 3rd Avenue, Rodney, Iowa, and; WHEREAS, pursuant to Iowa Code ß 384.73, the City of Rodney has determined good reason exists to void such special assessments. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, the Monona County Board of Supervisors direct the Monona County Treasurer to abate the special assessments, due to the City of Rodney voiding the special assessments. ROMV Parcel #8544-03-1-50-018 owned by Cleo Jan Hewitt with special assessment owed and payable for the year 2021 in the amount of $2068.30 and $349 penalty and costs. At the hour of 10:30 a.m., the Monona County Board of Supervisors convened as the Official Canvassers of the June 7, 2022 Primary Election with Commissioner of Elections Peggy A. Rolph.
