MONONA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING JANUARY 10, 2024 The Monona County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. o’clock on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in the boardroom of the courthouse in Onawa, Monona County, Iowa with Chairman Fox presiding. Other, Supervisors present: Tom Brouillette and Vince Phillips. Supervisor Absent: None. Also, present was Auditor Peggy A. Rolph. Motion was made by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Phillips to approve the agenda. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Sarah Delanty, Assistant County Attorney and Haley Bryan, County Attorney were present to discuss the wages for the Assistant County Attorney. Discussion followed with no action taken. Secondary Roads Office Manager Deleta Huffman and Shawn Bellis, Secondary Roads Maintenance Superintendent were present for Secondary Roads business. Motion was made by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Brouillette to table Resolution SR24-08 Employment of Assistant to Engineer I to make corrections to the Resolution. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox and Brouillette. Nays: None. Abstain: Phillips. Motion carried. Discussion items were snow removal, roads, and reflective signs, no action taken. Drainage Clerk Bryan Phillips was present for Drainage business. A quote was presented along with pictures to the Board form Jared Neddermeyer with Neddermeyer Construction Company, LLC in the amount of $6,050. to remove three beaver dams from the Maple River Lateral 1 Drainage Ditch. It was motioned by Phillips, seconded by Fox to approve quote from Neddermeyer Construction Company, LLC to remove the three beaver dams. Per Robert Steinerís request, excess material from the dams will be placed along the top of dikes and edge of field to be reclaimed. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Phillips, and Brouillette. Nays: None. Motion carried. Sandy Bubke, Environmental Health Administrator was present for the 2024 Radon Proclamation Month of January and for an increase for Radon Kit fees. Motion was made by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Brouillette to approve 2024 Radon Proclamation Month January. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion was made by Supervisor Phillips, seconded by Supervisor Brouillette to increase the cost of the radon kit fees from $7 to $10 due to the increase of the cost of kits effective January 10, 2024. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Supervisor Fox introduced and moved to adopt the following Resolution, seconded by Supervisor Phillips: RESOLUTION NO. 2024-02 RESOLUTION APPROVING LIST OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS TO BE DEPOSITORIES OF COUNTY FUNDS BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of Monona County in Monona County, Iowa approves the following list of financial institutions to be depositories of the County funds. She will be going from Drainage Clerk to Drainage Deputy her pay will go from $17.51 per hour to $24.27 per hour which is 70% of the Auditorís wages. Vote on motion: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips.
