MONONA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING AUGUST 23, 2022 The Monona County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. o’clock on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 in the boardroom of the courthouse in Onawa, Monona County, Iowa with Chairman Fox presiding. Other, Supervisors present: Tom Brouillette and Vince Phillips. Supervisor Absent: None. Also, present was Auditor Peggy A. Rolph. Motion was made by Supervisor Phillips, seconded by Supervisor Brouillette to approve the agenda. Vote on motion: All Ayes. Motion carried. Secondary Roads Engineer Dustin Wallis was present for Secondary Roads business. Motion was made by Supervisor Phillips, seconded by Supervisor Fox to approve six month wage adjustment for Dawson Richardson per union contract. Vote on motion: All Ayes. Motion carried. Discussion items were tree cutting, tree stumps, roads, concrete, water in the Turin shed, mechanic shed, and New Farmers. No action was taken In response to the petition of Patrick Mouw filed on July 6, 2022 requesting trees be sprayed along the entire Hackett ditch, the following action has been taken. After talking to B&W Spraying, they indicated they had sprayed the Hackett ditch this fall. Supervisor Fox drove the ditch and Patrick Mouw did revisit the ditch and reported it had been sprayed. He was concerned with a small portion on the East bank that appears to have been missed located between 195th Street and Hemlock Avenue in Sections 16 and 21, Ashton Township. The drainage office notified B&W Spraying. They will be passing through our area in 2-3 weeks and will stop and spray the area of concern. The IT position was discussed, no action was taken. Motion was made by Supervisor Brouillette, seconded by Supervisor Phillips to approve the minutes of August 16, 2022 as read. Vote on motion: All Ayes. Motion Carried. Motion was made by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Brouillette to approve claims. Vote on motion: All Ayes. Motion Carried. The policy on meeting expenses were discussed. Motion was made by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Phillips to change the handbook to state that any additional events not included in regular conference registration will not be paid for by the County. Vote on motion: All Ayes. Motion carried. It was moved by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Brouillette to hereby adjourn at the hour of 10:50 a.m. o’clock. Vote on motion: All Ayes.
