Mapleton Municipal Utility – Mapleton, Iowa March 14, 2023 The regular meeting of the Mapleton Municipal Electric board was held March 14, 2023, 12:00 noon at the City Hall council chambers. Present were Jim Else, Daniel Comes and Chris Blake. Employees present was Karla Uhl, Teresa Steinhoff, Nate LeFebvre and Jayden McFarland. Also present was Mayor Brent Streck. Motion by Chris Blake second by Daniel Comes to approve minutes from the previous meeting, the financial statement and payment of bills. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Chris Blake, second by Daniel Comes to approve a $1.00 per hour raise when confirmation is received from IAMU that Jayden McFarland has completed his first two steps of the apprenticeship program. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Chris Blake, second by Jim Else to approve the electric department funding up to 1/3 the cost of a Child Care Grant Study up to $1,667.00. Ayes: Jim Else, Chris Blake. Abstain: Daniel Comes. Motion carried. Motion by Chris Blake, second by Daniel Comes to approve an addition $1,000.00 to the library. Ayes: All. Motion carried.
