DUMPING FOREIGN MATERIAL IN ANY DITCH, DRAIN OR WATER COURSE TO THE PUBLIC: The Board of Supervisors and the various Boards of Trustees for drainage districts in Harrison, Monona and Woodbury Counties have noted an increase in the dumping of dead animals, brush, garbage and trash into the ditches, drains and watercourses. Section 468.149, Code of Iowa (2022), prohibits such acts and the person in violation of this section shall be deemed guilty of a serious misdemeanor. Section 903.1, Code of Iowa (2022), provides that "for a serious misdemeanor there shall be a fine of at least one hundred five dollars but not to exceed eight hundred fifty-five dollars. The court may order imprisonment not to exceed thirty days in lieu of a fine or in addition to a fine. We ask the public to help us control such illegal acts, as it is our intention to vigorously enforce Section 468.149, Code of Iowa.
