David E. "Dave" Mauch, 62

David E. DaveMauch, 62, of Mapleton, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Denison Care Center in Denison.

David Edward DaveMauch, the son of Darlene (Barnes) and Marvin Mauch, Sr. was born on August 2, 1960, in Davenport. He graduated and received his education from East Monona Community School. Dave was baptized, confirmed, and a lifelong member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Mapleton. When his children were young he taught CCD classes.

After graduation Dave went on to obtain his bachelors degree in Business Management in Pensacola, FL, where he graduated with honors. After college, he returned to Iowa where he was a dedicated employee at Tyson Foods in Dakota City, NE, working as a Senior Production Head Scheduler until he became ill.

On March 2, 1982, Dave was united in marriage to Nancy Ann Green in Denison. To this union two children were born: Ryan David and Sarah Lynn.

Dave enjoyed the great outdoors, from coon and mushroom hunting to horseback riding. He also loved singing and listening to old country music. With a great sense of humor he relished making people laugh. He also like watching old westerns and spending time with his family.

Survivors include daughter Sarah (Aaron) Davis of Des Moines; mother Darlene (Mauch) Snow of Castana; eight grandchildren; brothers Marvin (Linda) Mauch of Wisner, NE and Steve (Penny) Mauch of Mapleton; sisters Becky (Tracy) Smizer of Anthon, Colleen (Paul) Owens of Scranton, Lori (Les) Gosch of Mapleton, and Tina (Fiancé Max Blair) of Omaha; and many extended family and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his father Marvin Mauch Sr.; wife Nance Mauch; son Ryan Mauch; infant son Anthony Mauch; grandson Isaiah Mauch; niece Stephanie Owens; and other relatives.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Mapleton with Father Richard D. Ball officiating. Committal services followed in the St. Clair Township Cemetery near Ute. A Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m., with the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service, on Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Home in Mapleton.
