City of Ute REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING April 4, 2022 – City Hall The Ute City Council met with Mayor Richard Hageman in regular, open session on April 4, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. Council members present: Becky Miller, Ciera Carlson, Ryan Pithan, and Matt Leitz. Absent: Jimmy Carlson. Also present: Sue Kelm and Lonnie Carlson. Motion by Leitz/Miller to approve the agenda. All Ayes. MC Sue Kelm spoke during public forum and advised council of the need to amend her project with the Catalyst Grant from two apartments to one apartment (2 bedrooms and 1 ½ bath) as her contractor informed that the ceiling is too low for HVAC for an apartment on the north side of the building. Building Permits Approved: Brian Vinke – Driveway, Sidewalk. Lonnie stated there were several concrete jobs that he requested quotes from Midwest Construction Contractor: Installing the water fountain at the park, including digging up curb stop, put in a manhole, pour footing and retaining wall $1,200.00. 2. Rain inlet on Railway Street $1,375.00. Repair concrete bench in front of City Hall $300.00. Valley gutter on Padley Ave $1,750.00. Replace sidewalk that had to be removed due to water leak on Padley Ave $1,250.00. Motion by Pithan/CCarlson to table repairing concrete bench in front of City Hall until next meeting to obtain cost for new bench and approve water fountain, rain inlet, valley gutter and sidewalk replacement for total cost of $5,575.00. MC Motion by Leitz/Pithan to set Public Hearing for Monday, May 2, 2022, 7:00pm at City Hall on Application with USDA Rural Development for Financial Assistance for a John Deere Gator and 16’ x 83’ trailer. All Ayes. MC Motion by Leitz/Pithan to set Public Hearing for Monday, May 2, 2022, 7:00pm at City Hall on Amendment of FY2021-2022 Budget. All Ayes. MC Motion by CCarlson/Pithan Approving Community Catalyst Building Remediation Project Contract #21-CTBF-023. All Ayes. MC Motion by Miller/Pithan approving Change of Project Scope for Community Catalyst Building Remediation Project #21-CTBF-023. All Ayes. MC Motion by Leitz/Pithan to table RESOLUTION 2022-14: Amendment to Community Catalyst Building Remediation Project Contract #21-CTBF-023 until Owner contract with City is signed and returned. All Ayes. MC Council discussed the Community Club’s request to have City stall create sale maps, sale descriptions and upload on the Hwy 141 Sale website and they would cover the $100.00 fee. Council and city staff agreed to the request. A Paint Iowa Beautiful Grant Award was received for 3 Gallons of paint to be used for various city projects. Ute Clean Up Days will be April 22-24, 2022. Dumpsters will be located at the Ute Town & Country. Appliance tags will be available at Ute City Hall. The next regular Council meeting is set for May 2, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
