City of Mapleton ORDINANCE NO. 493 ORDINANCE AMENDING NUMBER OF MEMBERS ON PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD WHEREAS, the City of Mapleton the City of Mapleton has created a Parks and Recreation Board under City Ordinance Section 23.01; WHEREAS, the City of Mapleton Parks and Recreation Board consists of four (4) board members under City Ordinance Section 23.02; WHEREAS, the City of Mapleton has determined the Mapleton Parks and Recreation Board should have a total of seven (7) members; THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED, by the City Council, City of Mapleton, Iowa Chapter 23, Sections 23.02 is amended to read as follows: Section 23.02. BOARD ORGANIZATION. The Board shall consist of seven (7) members, all residents of the City, appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council, for indefinite terms of office. The Board shall annually choose from its membership a Chairperson, a Vice Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary. Members shall serve without compensation, but may receive reimbursements for expenses incurred in the performance of their duties. Vacancies shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointment for the balance of the term. * * * * Councilperson Benita Uhl introduced on November 12, 2025, caused to be read for the first time and move the consideration on the second reading of the foregoing proposed ordinance. Councilperson Abby Koenigs seconded the motion to consider the ordinance on the first reading, and upon roll being called, the vote was: Ayes: Zach Schrader, Abby Koenigs, Benita Uhl, Jacob Zawodny Absent: Joe Hogan Nayes: None WHEREUPON, the Mayor declared the foregoing ordinance to be passed on its first reading on November 12, 2025.
