City of Mapleton Minutes - Special Council Meeting June 22, 2022 The special meeting of the city council was held on June 22, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. Roll call was taken with the following members present, Mayor Pro-Tem Abby Koenigs, Benita Uhl, Angie Sass and Ronnie Smith, Joe Hogan. Mayor Streck attended virtually. Also attending virtually was Heidi Kuhl with Northland Securities. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Angie Sass to approve the order of the agenda. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Mayor Pro-Tem Abby Koenigs opened the meeting regarding the proposal to purchase general obligation loan notes. Heidi Kuhl from Northland Securities was present virtually and reviewed the bids received for interest rate for the loan. Bids were received from all three local banks with the interest rate from Security National Bank at 4.4%, Shelby County State bank at 4.76%, and First Security Bank at 5.99%. The final amount for borrowing was reduce to $532,000.00 after the bids were received on the projects. The resolution on the agenda will lock in the interest rate and terms of the loan. Motion by Ronnie Smith, second by Angie Sass to approve passage of Resolution 2022-14 “Resolution Directing the Acceptance of a Proposal to Purchase $544,000.00 (Dollar amount subject to change) Taxable General Obligation Capital Loan Notes, Series 2022A.” Ayes; Benita Uhl, Abby Koenigs, Joe Hogan, Ronnie Smith and Angie Sass.
