City of Mapleton Minutes - Regular Council Meeting November 9, 2022 The regular meeting of the city council was held on November 9, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. Roll call was taken with the following members present, Mayor Brent Streck, Joe Hogan, Abby Koenigs, Angie Sass and Benita Uhl. One vacant seat. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Joe Hogan to approve minutes from the previous meeting. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Abby Koenigs, second by Joe Hogan to approve the order of the agenda. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Angie Sass, second by Abby Koenigs to approve Jared Neddermeyer to have up to twelve chickens at his property at 211 No. Chamberlain Avenue, a letter will be sent to him. Ayes: Abby Koenigs, Angie Sass, Benita Uhl. Nay: Joe Hogan. Motion carried. Motion by Angie Sass, second by Joe Hogan to approve the Conflict Waiver with Ahlers and Cooney for the real estate transaction with WIT. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Joe Hogan, second by Benita Uhl to approve passage of Building Restrictions and Covenants for Water Tower Place Second Addition. Ayes: Abby Koenigs, Benita Uhl, Joe Hogan. Nay: Angie Sass. Motion carried. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Angie Sass to approve renewal of Tiny’s Bar liquor license. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Abby Koenigs, second by Angie Sass to accept the bids from Sam Seuntjens of $527.00 per are for the 105.41 acres farm ground near the airport and $295.00 per acre for the approximately 9 acres farm ground near the Nursing Home. Motion by Abby Koenigs, second by Benita Uhl to publish notice that the council intends to appoint a vacancy created by Ronnie Smith’s resignation effective November 1, 2022 at the December 14, 2022 council meeting. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Angie Sass to ask Planning and Zoning to review campers and recreational vehicles being parked in the front yards and make a recommendation to the council.
