City of Charter Oak ORDINANCE NO. 203-25 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CHARTER OAK, IOWA, BY AMENDING PROVISIONS TO SEWER RATES BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Charter Oak, Iowa: SECTION 1. SECTION MODIFIED. Section 3-3.0302 and Ordinances 183-15/16 and 197-24 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Charter Oak, Iowa, is repealed and the following adopted in lieu thereof: 3-3.0302 RENTAL RATE. Sewer service shall be furnished at the following rates within the City: Minimum Monthly Charge. A minimum monthly charge will be billed to all properties connected to the City system, whether the house or building is vacant or occupied. Occupied house or building - $30.00 per month. Vacant house or building - $20.00 per month. Usage Fee. Sewer rental will be billed at a rate of $2.50 per 1,000 gallons of water used per month. SECTION 2. NEW SECTION. A new section 3-3.0307 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Charter Oak, Iowa, is added as follows: 3.30307 HANDLING FEE. Any time a bill has to be hand delivered by the city to a customer’s residence due to no mail receptacle there will be a $15.00 handling fee added to your next bill as a miscellaneous charge. SECTION 3. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. If any section, provision, or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 4. WHEN EFFECTIVE. This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final passage, approval, and publication as provided by law.
