Monona County Sanitary Landfill Agency Regular Board Meeting December 13th, 2022 Chairman Keith Zediker called the meeting to order at 9:30 am. Present: Keith Zediker, Becky Miller, Kirk Rose, Chad Carrier, Manager Logan Persinger, and Office Secretary/Board Secretary Amanda Yanak Absent: Ryan Clark Approval of Minutes: Board meeting minutes from November 8th, 2022 were presented by A. Yanak. B. Miller made a motion to accept the minutes. C. Carrier seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. No further discussion Treasurers Report: Expenditures and CD’s were reviewed. In November, expenditures equalled $75,297.99 and deposits equalled $43,513.57. C. Carrier made a motion to accept the financial statements as proposed. K. Rose seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Secretary’s Report: A. Yanak presented three different credit card companies with fees and equipment. K. Rose made a motion to use quickbooks and have the landfill charge a 3.4% convince charge to cover the cost of the fee. B. Miller seconded the motion. Motion carried. A. Yanak stated that she mailed out the second half of the fiscal year 2022/2023 City Assessments due December 1st, 2022. She stated that she has received some of the payments Manager’s Report: L. Persinger stated that the rates of tires to be hauled out is going up from $300/ ton to $325/ton. C. Carrier made a motion to leave the individual tire rate at $7/tire but ti raise the rate from 0.15/pound to 0.17/pound for loads of tires. B. Miller seconded the motion. Motion carried. L. Persinger presented the discussion from last meeting about Holiday time. B. Miller made a motion to not close at noon before a Holiday except on Christmas Eve; the landfill will close at noon if Christmas Eve falls on a weekday. The landfill will not be closed on Veterans Day and the employees will be paid for a floating holiday for Veterans Day and the half day before the following Holidays; this includes the day before New Year’s, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. K. Rose seconded the motion. Motion carried. L. Persinger presented discussion on loads coming in from out of the Monona County Landfill planning zone. L. Persinger presented a bid from Prichard Farms to fix the old crane. The old crane has had many repairs but is now needing new parts. C. Carrier made a motion to accept Prichard Farms bid of $12,870.36. K. Rose seconded the motion. Motion carried. Chairman K. Zediker adjourned the meeting at 11:20 a.m. Next meeting is Tuesday January 10th @ 9:30 a.m. These minutes are subject to change at the next meeting.
