MONONA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING MAY 12, 2023 The Monona County Board of Supervisors met in special session at 9:30 a.m. o’clock on Friday, May 12, 2023 in the boardroom of the courthouse in Onawa, Monona County, Iowa with Chairman Fox presiding. Other, Supervisors present: Tom Brouillette and Vince Phillips. Supervisor Absent: None. Also, present was Auditor Peggy A. Rolph. Motion was made by Supervisor Phillips, seconded by Supervisor Fox to approve the agenda. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Jim Wigton, IT Director, was present to add an additional door to the previous quote and for a card printer for the doors. Motion was made by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Brouillette to approve adding the additional door to the quote and purchase a card printer for the doors using ARPA funding; the cost of the printer and cards will be $3,060. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Kevin Ewing, Sheriff, was present for bids on the doors. Motion was made by Supervisor Fox, seconded by Supervisor Phillips to table the bids on the doors at the Law Enforcement Center until updated bids are received. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Secondary Roads Engineer Dustin Wallis and Deleta Huffman, Office Manager, were present for Secondary Roads business. The Supervisors reviewed Dustin Wallisís Consultant Contract with Mr. Wallis. Motion was made by Supervisor Phillips, seconded by Supervisor Fox to approve Consultant Contract with Dustin Wallis. Vote on motion: Ayes: Fox, Brouillette, and Phillips. Nays: None. Motion carried. Supervisor Brouillette introduced and moved to adopt the following Resolution, seconded by Supervisor Phillips: RESOLUTION NO. SR 23-13 The Board of Supervisors advises and consents to the County Engineer’s recommendation to accept the quote from Ziegler CAT, Sioux City, Iowa, to supply a 2023 CAT 140 Motorgrader to Monona County as specified. SR 23-14 The Board of Supervisors advises and consents to the County Engineerís recommendation to accept the quote from Murphy Tractor, Sioux City, Iowa, to supply a 2023 John Deere 250G Excavator to Monona County as specified. The total cost is $327,475.00.
