MAPLE VALLEY – ANTHON OTO COMMUNITY SCHOOL SPECIAL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING Wednesday, February 26th, 2025 Board Room, MVAO Community School Central Office, 501 South 7th Street, Mapleton, Iowa 51034 7:00 PM Present: Wimmer, Streck, Klingensmith, and Thelander from the board Collins, Handke, and Else from the association. President Wimmer called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM The Negotiations Team representing the Maple Valley-Anthon Oto Community School District Board of Education met with representatives of the Maple Valley-Anthon Oto Education Association as part of the collective bargaining process for the purpose of negotiating salary and benefits for the 2025-2026 school year for the Professional Certified Staff. Representatives from the MVAO Education Association shared their initial proposal of 8% increase including fully funded insurance, and language items for consideration in the master contract. Representatives from the MVAO Community School District shared their initial proposal which included fully funded insurance and a $400 increase per teacher. The next meeting will be held on 3/19/25 at 6:30 PM and will not be open to the public. President Wimmer adjourned the meeting at 7:40 PM.
