CHARTER OAK-UTE COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR HEARING MAY 15, 2023 The Board of Directors of the Charter Oak-Ute School met on the above date in the Charter Oak Center with Directors Weed, Klinker, McAndrews, Goslar, Superintendent Eggeling and Secretary Carstens were present. Director Schultz was absent. President Weed called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. It was moved by Klinker, seconded by McAndrews to approve the Regular Meeting Agenda as presented. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Goslar to approve the consent items listed below. Ayes all. Motion carried. Approval of the Minutes of the Regular Meeting on April 17, 2023 Approval of the Minutes of the Budget Hearing Meeting on April 17, 2023 All Fundraising Approvals All Financial Reports Invoices for Payment Superintendent Eggeling discussed applications for job openings, needs assessments, state report, state testing scores, insurance claims from hail damage regarding the ac units, bus garage, storage shed, stratus and buses. He also discussed the ROI Energy lights and summer schools. It was moved by Klinker, seconded by Goslar to approve the 2023-2024 Teacher Handbook. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Klinker to approve the classified staff salary agreements with a 3.79% average increase which is .71 cents per person and a $35.00 insurance increase for the full time 12 month employees. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Klinker to approve the starting wages at $11.50 an hour. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Klinker, seconded by Goslar to approve the IASB membership and policy reference membership. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Klinker to approve the purchase of the Boost intervention through Amplify. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Klinker, seconded by McAndrews to approve the resolution existing director districts and method of election following the 2020 federal census. Roll call vote: Ayes – Goslar, Klinker, McAndrews and Weed. Director Schultz was absent. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by McAndrews, seconded by Goslar to approve the shared social worker agreement with NWAEA. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Goslar, seconded by Klinker to approve the director of maintenance and operations salary as presented for the 2023-2024 school year. Ayes all. Motion carried. It was moved by Klinker, seconded by McAndrews to set the June board meeting to June 28, 2023 at 4p.m. Ayes all. Motion carried. The board discussed future agenda items: vehicles, air conditioning and restroom project and administration salaries There being no further business it was moved by Klinker, seconded by McAndrews to adjourn the meeting at 8:05 p.m. Ayes all.
